4 hot dog buns

4 beef or turkey hot dogs

1 cup beef or turkey chili (canned or homemade)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup diced onions

¼ cup pickled jalapeños, sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Prepare the Grill or Pan: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, add olive oil to ensure the hot dogs do not stick.

    Cook the Hot Dogs: Place the hot dogs on the grill or in the skillet. Cook them for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are heated through and have a nice char.

      Warm the Chili: While the hot dogs are cooking, heat the chili in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until warm.

        Toast the Buns: During the last 2 minutes of cooking the hot dogs, split the buns and place them on the grill or skillet, cut side down. Toast them until they are golden brown.

          Assemble the Chili Dogs: Place each cooked hot dog into a toasted bun. Generously ladle the warm chili over each hot dog.

            Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili, followed by diced onions and pickled jalapeños.

              Garnish: Optional - add fresh cilantro on top for an extra flavor boost.

                Serve and Enjoy: Serve the chili dogs immediately while they're hot and cheesy!
